**Complex Networks Resea****rch Group**

"Complex Networks" is a rapidly developing branch of science whose purpose is to model an interacting group of individuals. Internet, social and economical networks, power plant grids, transportation networks and brain neuronal network are few examples of the real world complex networks. The researches in the complex systems group are concentrated mostly on the study of structural properties of networks and dynamics on networks. The structural features of interests are the communities, motifs, clustering coefficients and spectral properties. The aim of our researches on dynamics of non-linear models on complex networks, is to find the emergent novel collective behaviors, arising from the interplay between the dynamical nonlinearity and topology of the networks. Synchronization and epidemic spreading are the two topics in this context, being studied in this group.

**Evolutionary Dynamics Research Group**

We can find numerous phenomena in nature whose functionality gradually evolves toward more and more advanced behaviors.

Examples include: evolution of living organisms, evolution of oral language, and evolution of economy. In all of these processes we can find two important mechanisms: reproduction with mutation and selection. In evolutionary dynamics the main goal is to develop mathematical theories behind these processes. One of these theories is known as Evolutionary Game Theory.

The main goal in our research group is to explain mechanisms in nature that makes the cooperative strategies to survive in these processes.
